Summer truffles are now known and appreciated all over the the world. Picking season goes from May to September. Summer truffles are usually found in limestone terrains, oakwoods and pinewoods.
Classic recipe is the summer truffle sauce adding the grated summer truffles to warm olive oil (warm but not boiling), a touch of garlic, salt and pepper. This sauce is used on bruschettas, spaghetti, meat, fish or you can slice on a salad to create a very special dish. Recommended quantity for portion: 1oz.
Product life: 1 to 2 weeks, kept into a refrigerator at 37.5 F (3 C ), wrapped in paper towel.

The truffles made for an amazing multi-course dinner. I'm also impressed with the customer service response. I accidentally forgot to ask for Saturday shipping and they quickly addressed my concerns.
First time purchasing fresh black summer truffles (among other things) from Urbani and was not disappointed. Didn’t know what to expect in terms of size but I am very happy. Received 2 pieces. One was just slightly smaller than a ping pong ball so it was quite large and exceeded my expectations. The other was smaller but still very usable w/a truffle slicer. Have a list of things I plan to make the next few days, but I started w/Asparagus & Black Truffle Risotto w/Egg Yolk!
